Baby Massage (birth +)Learn in the comfort of your own home with a baby massage
'social club' get a group of 5-8 friends together to host your own baby massage class, and receive the course for free. 5 or 6 week (includes massage for teething and colic) options available. Want to find another way to be with your baby? Baby massage is suitable for newborns and beyond. This course includes five hour-long sessions, using the Hands On Babies methods (accredited by the Royal College of Midwives). Great for your baby, for you, for meeting other new parents. Touch is a vital method of connection, communication, and bonding. You know how great you feel after a relaxing massage? Touch and relaxation activate the parasympathetic nervous system which aids: circulation; digestion; hormone production; the immune, lymphatic, and respiratory systems; respiration and restful sleep. Once you've been given the all-clear, why not return to gentle exercise by introducing your baby to it too? As your baby grows and becomes more mobile, movements in baby yoga can help them become more aware of their body and aid motor development (and strengthen neuronal connections in the brain). Baby yoga can aid healthy digestion, relieving colic, constipation and wind. This course includes six hour-long sessions, using the Hands On Babies methods (accredited by the Royal College of Midwives) and classes incorporate gentle yoga moves for parents too. Little Omies (5-9 years)Extra class begins after Easter!
Tuesdays and Wednesdays 16.00 at Dreamcatcher play cafe Yoga is excellent for children's physical, mental and emotional development. Classes are led by Lara, qualified primary school teacher and developmental psychology PhD - so there's science behind the yoga! Through yoga children will move, play, experience stillness and learn skills to manage their feelings and behaviour in small class sizes (maximum 10 children). We might explore postures through stories like the Gruffalo, Where the Wild Things Are, play games, or work together in partner yoga. In Little Omies children will explore ancient breathing techniques (pranayama) that help activate the parasympathetic nervous system - switching off the fight or flight response and switching on the body's rest and digest response, aiding sleep, the immune system and healthy hormone production. £7 drop-in/£30 5 week term term beginning w/c 20th April |
