Yoga means 'to yoke', to join, or 'union'.
Union of people in a space or practice; of body and mind; of awareness; of breath and movement. The spirit of Yoga is non-competitive, nourishing, providing, and giving.
OmBodied Education CIC (community interest company) was established at the end of 2019 by Ana and Lara, former colleagues and fellow primary school teachers. They are now both in school part-time, with Lara teaching yoga and completing a PG Cert in Psychodynamic Skills, while Ana is pursuing a Masters in Art in Primary Education. Their years in Early Years Education in the State sector united them in their passion for holistic education and well-being in early life, with its enduring impact on life-trajectory.
The mission of OmBodied Education is to remove barriers to accessing yoga and related practices, such as baby massage and baby yoga. We aim to achieve this by offering yoga in community spaces by providing free or donation-based places in classes and courses, or running classes in existing yoga studios with 'scholarship' or 'pay what you can' places to increase diversity and representation.
By doing so, we share the benefits of yoga, make new connections, broaden horizons, and create community. Scroll down attend a fundraising class, attend a project, or donate.

Yoga for life.
"Drawing on my background in developmental psychology, I see the proven, research-backed value of yoga-like practices from birth and reaching throughout our life-span. I offer classes in baby massage and baby yoga, helping the youngest infants develop their body awareness, maintaining embodied experiences and enhancing bonding - union! - between carers and infants for better mental health and relationships.
I offer yoga for children, helped by my experience as a primary school teacher. Using story telling to inspire yoga sequences, we build awareness of breath, mental processes (monkey minds!), mindful movement and introduce yoga concepts like ahimsa (non-harming), satya (truthfulness) and santosha (contentment)."
Lara, Co-Director
