Yoga is an ancient tool for modern life and it can benefit all bodies.
Before you begin a yoga practice you should consult with your doctor. Please take a moment to read and complete the below form at least 24 hours before your class.
If you are pregnant you should not begin a new yoga practice with me in your first trimester. If you are already a yogi, it is advisable to continue practicing with your current teacher. If you wish to start a new practice while pregnant, you should seek a teacher trained in pregnancy yoga.
Yoga is a physical practice linking breath to movement, or in stillness. In this practice we will move through a sequence of poses which will stretch, twist and strengthen the body.
By slowing the breath and bringing attention to the body, yoga benefits the central nervous system, which can create feelings of relaxation, increased focus, alertness, and calm. It can be beneficial for taking us out of a Fight or Flight state that every day stresses and demands can create, and back into Rest and Digest mode.
Classes will last 60 minutes and include accessible relaxation/mindfulness techniques. Modifications to poses will be offered to make poses accessible where appropriate. The practice will encourage you to work with and learn about your body at all times.
